A blogpost with CoWorkLand

How it all started…

Mission and Values

“CoWorkLand is an alliance of founders and operators of rural co-working spaces. It’s organized as a cooperative. We have three fields of action.

The first is start-up support for founders who want to set up a co-working space in rural areas. That can be private individuals, that can be municipalities, but that can also be a university, of course. But also a foundation.

On the other hand, it’s the support in operation, that is, when you have already founded a co-working space. […]

And the third part is political lobbying to improve the framework conditions for our members. We are a public benefit oriented initiative.”

Impact on Rural Areas “The impact or the opportunity that lies in the CoWorkLand project is that a new infrastructure is built bottom-up. Not necessarily through government action or planning. But you can say that through us, a new form of public service is being created that helps people who are moving back to the countryside. […] And it is only through digitalization that all these new workplaces are emerging with their secondary effects. It is not just workplaces. Social and cultural offerings are created as a by-product. […]

”The Tourism Innovation Map Austria (TIM) makes digitization projects in domestic tourism visible. The aim is to promote cooperation, the use of synergies and joint learning within the industry, and to provide a comprehensive overview of digitization projects in the country.”

Ulrich Bähr, managing director of CoWorkLand
